Graduate Students

Currently, all of the assistantships in the lab are filled.  We’re always looking for new opportunities, however, so please don’t hesitate to contact me if you are interested in the work that we do.  Occasionally we can find ways to accommodate exceptional candidates even if a specific project has yet to fully develop.

Further, we have a vibrant group of faculty in forest soils, ecology, silviculture, hydrology, physiology, etc. here in the Department of Forest Resources and Environmental Conservation.  I’d be happy to point you in the direction of one of my colleagues if I know of another opportunity.

For more information on the graduate programs in the Department of Forest Resources and Environmental Conservation, please visit: http://frec.vt.edu/students/grad/.

There are always great opportunities to do forest soils research somewhere.  If you can’t find one here, I might suggest checking the job postings of the Forest, Range, and Wildland Soils Division of the Soil Science Society of America at:  http://www.forestsoils.org/S-7/jobs.html.

Think you might like forest soils research?  There is only one way to find out...do it!   Please contact me to discuss opportunities and interests.  If you’re around 228 Cheatham Hall, feel free to stop by.  I’d be happy to sit down with you and talk.
